sunglasses

"With my sunglasses on, I'm Jack Nicholson. Without them, I'm fat and 60" - Jack Nicholson

An exceptional amount of creation has been made within the human society, it's so interesting how we've created so many facades between our family, friends, and associates. There's always a different set of sunglasses to put on, never are we capable of being ourselves these days, as if our originality places us at insecure lines we wish not to cross.

Interestingly I've noticed the creation of one facade which I've fabricated for myself, one which I put on when around women I like and are in fact interested in. I'm pretty sure this is common among several people; completely acting like someone you're not when you're trying for a certain person, in truth, we're afraid. Afraid that perhaps the intimate side of ourselves would not be accepted by someone else, truth in that, it's simple, I fear women that I like.

The art of "spontaneous-ism" is one which catches us when falling; while trying to act like someone completely different, the simple mistakes of tripping and falling, or spilling red wine on your white shirt, as much as someone continues to wear their shades on, they're still unable to keep their eyes from showing, allowing their true selves to reveal.

I'm working on it though; working on not being so nervous, so worried. Quite frankly, it's all as simple as being true to yourself, taking of those glasses and letting everyone see who you are. There's nothing wrong with insecurities, but there is something wrong with letting them hold you back.
